Synopsis
No one believes Zoë when she says she doesn’t want to get married. Not
that Zoë minds it so much. She knows that society, her friends and
family assume it is her long time partner, Kyle, who refuses to wed.
Out of her charitable heart and her profound belief that "everyone
needs to make a complete fool of themselves at least once", she comes
up with a brilliant plan to prove everyone right.
What’s more, she has
the perfect timing, venue and dress to execute her outrageous plan: the
wedding of her best friend, Emily, who unwittingly chose her as her
bridesmaid.

Personal statement
Director Michal Lavi says:
"It is a truth universally known that women want to get married and guys are trying to avoid getting hitched. While generalizations certainly save time, they are not true in Zoë ’s case. Zoë , an independent women in her thirties is in a loving relationship and is already living the “happily ever after”.
Tying the Not
is a comedy about friendship, social conceptions and misconceptions that are laid on women as well as on men. It is a witty, cynical look that pokes at the notion that women at a certain age are desperate to tie the knot.
Zoë is outrageous, clever and armed with sense of humor and an opinion on pretty much everything and yet she represents many women."
