Personal statement
Director Ian Yorski says:
"The Snow Fort is all about growing up on the Canadian prairies. It's really just a snapshot of my youth. I, along with my brother and our buds, would build forts at the park across the street from our house.
We'd spend a day building, a few hours playing, and then, once the energy had been spent, wander home. We had no delusions that the fort would last. It was on public property, and some kids could be jerks. Plain and simple. And it didn't matter either. If we got that one day out of it, we were happy. We didn't harbour any notions of justice or vengeance, we'd just build another one some other weekend."
