Personal statement

Director Stephen Dunn says:

"
The Hall is a quirky drama about confronting your most internal and intimate fears by giving them physical form. Martin Crimp is an overwrought young man, desperately seeking love, however he fears rejection and must defeat a gigantic menacing owl in order to overcome his insecurities.

The film
won the Toronto 48 Hour Film Project and went on to represent Canada in the International division at the Miami International Film Festival where it was selected as one of the Best Films of All Time in History of the 48 Hour Film Competition.

The Hall was also selected to screen at the Cannes International Film Festival – Short Film Corner in May 2009 and gained the attention of film critic Roger Ebert on RogerEbert.com

That’s a pretty long way for a film that was made for fun by seven adventurous friends."
