Synopsis
The Art of Contact is an experimental dance documentary that explores the idea of interaction using improvised movement. It’s a personal journey through collective and individual dances where there are no boundaries, just free style instinctive movement. We follow the dancers as they discover new points of contact and reveal the most basic principles of human interaction.

Personal statement
Director Maayan Cohen says:
"The Art of Contact
is an interactive experiment, a documentary and a dance film. It’s was my way to explore the idea of interaction through movement. When I relocated from Israel to Canada, I was lost in a search of identity in the North American culture.
Contact Dance was my way of expression, a new language without literal boundaries, a natural improvised way to feel connected. Through different points of contact in the dance, I discovered the joy and play of improvised movement. I filled up the void of my culture with new people and places and developed a sense of community.
The Art of Contact is a personal journey through a collection of dances. It’s an expression of thoughts using the flow of movement. It’s the point of touch that connects us to each other and to our environment. It’s a celebration of movement and sound in the most natural way."
