Personal statement
Director Jason Cox says:
"Sounds From Hell was born out of my passion for storytelling and more so my love of urban legend and the unexplained. It's tough to see even a short film through pre-production to post with limited funding, so we tried to use our backdrop of the location to up the production value the best we could.
After deciding that north American actors came across as fake with Russian accents, we chose to cast actual Russians which was not an easy thing to do in Vancouver. We had a great DOP and the actors, whatever their skill levels, listened and learned quite a bit as did we all in one day of shooting."
