Personal statement
Director Stephen Hunt says:
"Shuffleboard has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. I've never seen a sport so evenly matched. It's anti-athletic, ageless and everyone claims to have been great at it. I thought why not create a character who believes that shuffleboard is "the" sport. Make him bitter about the popularity of other sports and give him the tendencies of his greatest competition, the elderly.
It's hard to imagine anyone else playing Howard Johnson; Darren Miller added a lot to the role. The look of the short was very consistent and the Director of Photography, Mark Utley, did a great job shooting in the little time he had. Adam Barnes (Composer) and Tyler Baptist (Editor) really put the finishing touches on it.
It was lots of fun working with these talented people and I hope to work with them all again very soon."
