Synopsis
On September 13, 1870 Elzear Goulet, a Metis man from the Red River Settlement (Winnipeg) was set upon by a group of drunken soldiers.
Seeing that he was outnumbered by a murderous mob, Elzear did the only thing he could do: run. His body washed up at The Forks the next day and the Metis understood that they were no longer in charge.

Personal statement
Director Sam Vint says:
"When I was asked to come up with an idea for my first movie I didn’t hesitate, I knew the story I wanted to tell. Run For Your Life
is about Metis martyr and hero Elzear Goulet, my great-great-great grandfather.
The film stars my Uncle Lester with a bit part by my nephew Ayden. I made this film for the Metis people, all of Elzear’s descendants and me.
Coincidentally Elzear Goulet Memorial Park was dedicated in St. Boniface, Manitoba on September 13, 2008, 138 years after his murder."
