If you’re anything like me – and God help you – you’ve spent some time scouring the online program of the upcoming Worldwide Short Film Festival (or WSFF for savvy Twitterers).
As usual, my demanding editor Liz Hover blamed me for not being able to find Canadian world premieres. Even though I assured her that there were many at the fest, she ordered proof.
So (and before she yells at me again) I did my own sleuthing and found out which of the Canadian films will be premieres. Since part of the fun of attending a festival is discovering films that no one else has yet set their eyes on, I present you with the following.
Competitive programs
- Envy (Drew Jarvis); Revolving Doors (Kristen Korns, Canadian premiere) - Behind Closed Doors program

- A Fable About Beauty (NSI alumnus John Barnard); Karen Parker Is Almost Famous (Wade Vroom); Summer Meat-sserts (Sarah Kolasky, NSI alumnus Adam Garnet Jones); Break a Leg (Jesse Shamata, Canadian premiere); Phatwa (Hala Alsalman, Canadian premiere) - Pretty Poison program
- 34 Suns and 2 Moons (Mathieu Drouin); Hey, George (Michael Pierro) - Best Laid Plans program
- Happiness Is Hate Therapy (Brett Blackwell) - Bad Habits program

- Slip (Chelsea McMullan); Sometimes I Dream Of Reindeer (Tom Feiler) - Not Just From Venus program
Non-competitive programs
- 5 Minute Dating (Peter Hatch); Chloe and Attie (Scooter Corkle); Jack (Kryshan Randall) - Midnight Mania: Creepy program

- How We Exit (Jeff Harris, Reg Vermue); Marching Through Your Head (MAKAPOON); Thick Skin (Sean Wainsteim) - Scene Not Herd: Music videos program
- Kellie
