Personal statement

Andrew Bush says:

"The seed of the story of this film originated in a pawn shop I visited in Toronto. A shopper asked the elderly pawnbroker a straightforward question about a stereo for sale and the pawnbroker fired back with a hilariously inappropriate response.

By saying only one sentence he conveyed his entire character to everyone within earshot. I was interested to use this exchange in a short film, to set the stage for the audience to immediately know who this character is but then turn that expectation 180 degrees by the end of the story.

I’ve received an incredible response from viewers who have seen the film and feel fortunate to have worked with an incredible cast and crew."
