Brandice Vivier-Burns, Manager, Programs & Development

As manager, programs and development, Brandice develops and delivers many of our training programs. In addition to managing NSI Totally Television, she sits on the NSI Online Short Film Festival selection committee.

Brandice previously managed the NSI Aboriginal Journalism program, NSI Storytellers, NSI Pitch to Win!, and NSI Drama Prize. She has also been part of the delivery team for the Featuring Aboriginal Stories Program, NSI Global Marketing, Telefilm Canada Spark Plug and DiverseTV.

Brandice has worked in the film and television industry for 15 years. Prior to NSI, she worked at CTV where she negotiated and drafted development and license agreements for CTV, The Comedy Network, and the Discovery Channel, as well as preparing compliance reports for the CRTC. She also worked in the Canadian dramatic programming department where she acted as the business coordinator for independent producers on all Canadian dramatic programming developed and licensed by CTV.

Brandice began her career at Manitoba Film & Sound (now Manitoba Film & Music) where she worked in a number of positions starting as an administrative assistant and moving to the locations program and finally working as programs analyst.

In addition to being an alumna of the University of Manitoba, Brandice has completed business law, producer, multimedia, marketing and French courses at various institutions including the Banff Centre for the Arts, the Canadian Screen Training Centre, University of Winnipeg, and La Collège Saint Boniface.

Finally, Brandice is a cheese connoisseur – the more aromatic the better!

Sam Linton, Program Advisor

Sam is VP and executive producer at RTR Media.

She is driven by finding new and creative ways to tell stories.  As the former director of programming for Discovery Channel Canada, Animal Planet Canada and most recently, acting director of factual content for Shaw Media and History Television, Sam has spearheaded a wealth of factual programs and brands over the years: From How It's Made, and May Day to Ice Pilots NWT, and Canadian Pickers.

Before joining RTR, Sam was also head of factual programming for Cineflix Productions. She is an award-winning producer and director in her own right. Sam co-created the successful Sex Files brand for Discovery Canada, which has been sold in over 20 countries worldwide.
