December is comedy month in the
NSI Online Short Film Festival.
The National Screen Institute presents eight comedy gems from the NSI archives which will play throughout December.
Beginning December 7, the NSI Online Short Film Festival will feature the following short films.
December 7
- Father Fred by director/producer Nicholas Humphries and writer Zach Roe - Bill's gone to Father Fred for guidance. Sometimes though, the best advice is not what you want to hear.
- Porn for Women by writer/director/producer Victoria Goring - A satirical look at gender turn-ons.
December 14
- The Passengers by writer/director/producer Jordan Hay - A shifty boss takes two of his employees on a rat race mission to get their last paychecks.
- Dave Foley and Fans by writers Mark Satterthwaite/Brian Smith and director/producer Brian Smith - In town from Sudbury for the weekend, two exuberant fans trap actor Dave Foley in a Toronto hotel lobby.
December 21
- Breakdown by writer/director/producer John Bolton and producer Errin Clutton - In May 2006, filmmakers John Bolton and Errin Clutton were given eight
days and eight hundred dollars to produce a disaster film. This is that film.
- Watering Mr. Cocoa by writers Mark Cutforth and Richard Dane Scott, director Mark Cutforth and producers Amanda Cameron-Portelli and Evan Thaler Hickey - Seven-year old Amber is convinced that she can bring her hamster back
to life by watering his grave. Now if it will only work for her father
... and the body she saw her teacher burying in the woods.
December 28
- Goons by writer Mike MacQueen and director/producer André Doucet - The goons set off to kill a guy only to discover
that nobody’s home. So they do what all logical hired hit men would do:
they wait. Two more goons break in
only to discover that they’ve been double booked.
- Project: Icing by writer/director/producer Krista Jang - A notoriously unreliable sister is responsible for bringing the cake to her mother's birthday party. How hard can it be?
New films for 2010 will appear on the NSI website starting the week of January 4.
