On Thursday January 8, 2009, come celebrate Manitoba’s film and music talent and learn how you can enter these exciting and vibrant industries at the Manitoba Film and Music showcase. NSI will be there to answer your questions about film, TV & digital media training.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. at the Centennial Concert Hall where you'll talk to representatives from the National Screen Institute – Canada. Stop by and say 'hi' to NSI's Glynis Corkal, Chris Vajcner and Lauren MacDiarmid who will be there with other cool local organisations such as Manitoba Film & Music, Film Training Manitoba, Manitoba Music, Winnipeg Film Group and other film and TV groups.

Find out about training options, internships, workshops, and job opportunities. Learn from special guests such as writer/director/producers Guy Maddin (My Winnipeg), NSI alumni Norma Bailey (Falcon Beach) and Lisa Meeches (The Sharing Circle, Elijah) and Deco Dawson (Last Moment).

Enjoy performances from Manitoba musicians including: Eagle & Hawk, Fresh I. E., The Waking Eyes, Ray. St. Germain, Bryce Pallister, Twilight Hotel, Inward Eye, Dominique Reynolds, Steve Bell, Heather Bishop, Alana Levandoski and Flo.

Don’t miss the free Manitoba Film and Music showcase, Presented by Manitoba Film & Music. For more info, call 947-2040 (extension 16) or email Tannis Scott.
