NSI Drama Prize grads present films at WIFT-T Short Film Showcase March 9

Posted on Monday, March 08, 2010.

NSI Drama Prize grad Jill Riley’s short film The Princess of Selkirk Avenue and Nadine Valcin and Brigitte Boucher’s NSI Drama Prize film In Between are screening at the first WIFT-T Short Film Showcase in Toronto March 9.

The Princess of Selkirk Avenue tells the story of a familial fallout of a Jewish girl’s engagement to a Gentile boy in early 1960’s Winnipeg. It stars Jonas Chernick and Renessa Blitz.

In Between: Leila convinces her brother to let her run the family convenience story by herself. Apprehensively he agrees, but demands she call him if anything unusual happens - which tonight means she should be calling a lot.

The WIFT-T inaugural Short Film Showcase honours the work of their members. The Showcase will be followed by a networking reception.

  • Tuesday, March 9, 2010, 6 PM – 9 PM
  • Deluxe, 424 Adelaide St. East, Toronto
  • Tickets | $10 for WIFT-T members and $15 for non-members. Please complete a ticket order form. (Microsoft Word doc.)
