Students in Winnipeg will have the opportunity to learn about the National Screen institute and watch four NSI Drama Prize films Wednesday April 14 at the Globe Cinema during Young Artists on the Avenue.

The four films are:

  • The Curiosity of Penny Parker by writer/director Ryan Hanson and producer Paul Lachowich - After a delightful morning, Penny struggles to follow her cell phone-distracted mother.
  • The Recital by writer/director Billy Morton and producer Mike Fleischhaker - In the fall of 1963, a typical suburban family prepares for a piano recital that will end up as the ultimate battle of wits.
  • Dual Citizen by writer/director Christy Garland and producer Kirsteen McLean - One day in a sleepy Florida retirement suburb, a neighbour causes a flap over the tiny Canadian flag above “Snowbird” Bob’s door and a lot goes down before the flag does.
  • Les Grands by writer/director Chloé Leriche and producer Christine Falco - This comedy tells the story of three young boys who are the victims of a bully at school. One day, they decide to confront him.
Globe Cinema, Portage Place Shopping Centre, Wednesday April 14 at 12:30 p.m.
