Personal statement
Robert Woolsey says:
"Knots, as a screenplay, was assigned to me through the Portfolio Shorts program of the Vancouver Film School; I couldn’t have been happier with another story. As a director one does not pass up the opportunity to tackle such a well written script.
The playfully romantic scenes, the suspenseful buildup to the twist ending, the wonderfully complex character of Timothy are all aspects of a great story. Put them together, and you have a real gem. Chase Kantor wrote the script, and while I can’t say where he drew his inspiration from, I can tell you that I drew mine from Hitchcock’s movies (and when I say drew, I mean stole…).
There’s really not much more to say on my end. I just tried to live up to the great script by staying close to a master of this genre. The end result is something I’m very proud to have on NSI. Thanks for watching."
