Personal statement
Amanda Fahey says:
"I’m thrilled to have If Key-Lime Pie Could Scream included in the NSI Online Film Festival. A big thank you to the amazing cast, crew, and supporters.
My intention is always to tell stories through absurdity and humour that is rooted in real life experience. Here is a protagonist who, like most of us, has experienced love, only to have it shattered by unexpected circumstances.
From as early as the script stage I imagined the character of Vida played by the gifted Canadian comedienne Aurora Browne and I knew I wanted her for the role.
Aurora’s comedic timing really brings this film to life.
Additionally, while the entertainment and fashion industries have already faced their fare share of satire, I wanted to lampoon the diet industry, which is also guilty of perpetuating low self-esteem and poor body image, especially among women.
At the heart of this film is a love story about a woman falling in love with herself. Enjoy! Have a laugh, say goodbye to the Mr. Big in your life, and kick-start your appetite.
Bon appétit!"
