What is this website about?
This is the website of Canada's national film and television training school - National Screen Institute - Canada. We're often called NSI for short. To read more about NSI please see our history page.
Here you can read blog posts from film and television industry folks; watch some of the best Canadian independent short films, free, all year round in our online short film festival; and you'll find audio and video interviews with filmmakers, producers, directors, writers and other content creators.
How will the NSI website help me?
Tell me about NSI's training programs
At the top and bottom of every NSI web page are links to our professional training programs.
I’m looking for specific information. Where can I find it?
Try using the search function at the top right of the screen. In the blog section you can also click on one of the blog categories to filter out irrelevant information. If you still can’t find what you’re after, email us and maybe we’ll write about it.
Where do I start?
Check out some of the blog posts from writers, directors and producers; see what training programs we offer; watch or listen to audio and video interviews from inspiring industry folks; or watch short films from some of Canada's best independent filmmakers through the NSI Online Short Film Festival.
I'm new to all of this. What's a blog? What's RSS?
