Personal statement
Ali A. Rashti says:
"Eat Roses is a film about my personal time spent in Cambodia, a country I now consider my second home.
The film tackles the topic of belonging and national identity. It is about where we come from and how it shapes us. This is a topic that is particularly close to me as I migrated from my home country of Iran when I was 10 years old. I have since become a citizen of Canada and consider it my true home.
However, this feeling of belonging is often challenged, leaving me to question if I can truly call anyplace home."
