Ahhh – lazy Sundays are WONDERFUL.
I love waking up late on Sunday mornings, making myself a big ol’ bowl
latte, maybe treat myself to some bacon and eggs and then poppin’ in
the never failing cure to the day when nothing but golf or tennis is
on – the DANCE MOVIE.
How can you deny that letting Step-Up 2: The Streets roll as you sip your coffee and check your RSS feeds isn’t the best way to wake up?
Ok, I’m not denying that when the lead gives her speech about “the
streets is not about what you got, it's what you make of what you've
got” that I throw up a little in my mouth. But watching dance crews
kill it inspire me to break out and have a little living room dance
party.
Dance movies have become such a flavor these days that my cousins and I
have decided to create a dance movie collection such that after our Saturday
nights out, we can settle into How She Move or You Got Served whenever we please.
Dance flicks in the collection range from High School Musical to Dirty Dancing, (we’ve left nothing out so far, cousin G even bought Dirty Dancing 2) and they all make me want to do the same thing – put on my Timberlands and Stomp the Yard.
In any case, more on the dance movie genre later...
Happy labour day weekend, and keep it real, yo’.
Peace out.
