BLOGGING GUIDELINES

The National Screen Institute - Canada ("NSI") believes in fostering a thriving online community and supports blogging as a valuable component of shared media. NSI enables you to submit posts via its website www.nsi-canada.ca, subject to the guidelines set forth below, which may be updated from time to time without providing notice to you.

You understand that any views you post are your own and unless specifically stated are not those of NSI. Further, NSI is not responsible for the content of any external sites or comments you post. If you think any content posted or provided in a nsi-canada.ca blog violates the guidelines set forth below, or NSI's Terms and Conditions, then please alert NSI.

NSI reserves the right to pre-screen, edit, and remove any post as it deems appropriate. You specifically acknowledge that NSI has no obligation to display any post submitted.

Please ensure your comments are civil, tasteful and relevant. Therefore:

·         No Flaming. Unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive or otherwise objectionable comments are not acceptable.

·         No Swearing.

·         No Spamming or Flooding. Don't post the same comment to more than one conversation or more than once.

·         No Impersonation. Adopting an inappropriate user name (one that is vulgar, offensive, etc.) is also unacceptable.

·         Only Include Suitable URL's. Links to websites we consider unsuitable will be removed. If you are considering including a URL, please make sure that it adds value and interest to the subject of your recommendation. Unsuitable sites would include those with racist material, pornographic or sexually explicit materials, potentially defamatory material, anything which encourages illegal activities, or material which infringes copyright.

When you choose to go public with your opinions via a blog, you are legally responsible for your commentary. Individual bloggers can be held personally liable for any commentary deemed to be defamatory, obscene, proprietary or libelous. For those reasons, bloggers should exercise caution with regards to exaggeration, colorful language, guesswork, obscenity, copyrighted materials, legal conclusions and derogatory remarks or characterizations. In essence, you blog (or post onto the blog of others) at your own risk. Outside parties can pursue legal action against you for such postings.

If you are under eighteen (18) years of age, get your parent's or guardian's permission before posting. Never reveal any personal information about yourself (such as your telephone number or home address).

By contributing to a blog on nsi-canada.ca, you grant NSI the worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive right to use, publicly display, publicly perform, modify and distribute any post or any other information submitted, in any media now known or hereinafter developed.

NSI reserves the right to delete any posting or account at any time for any reason. Please read NSI's Terms and Conditions.
