Dave Geertz, co-founder of the Canada-based Biracy Project talks to Liz Hover about crowdfunding and how his new website (currently in beta) could help fund film
projects.

Once upon a time, David Geertz worked in production, post production, manufacturing of media and media distribution. David learned how to budget and arrange financing for media projects with a hope that one day he would produce his own film.
That day came and David had his project almost 100% funded. After countless meetings, trips, and trade shows David got a term sheet from an investment group; they would fund his film – providing he remove his cast, fire the director and put the investor’s girlfriend in the role of his leading male.
Dave went to work creating The Biracy Project so that no one with a creative vision would ever have to replace their male lead with the female girlfriend of a middleman again.
