Attend Mark McKinney writing workshop in Winnipeg

Posted by Liz Hover on Friday, October 30, 2009. Categories: Writing, Training, NSI

Mark McKinney, one of Canada's favourite Kids in the Hall, will run a writing workshop on November 11 and 12.

The workshop runs over two days from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., costs $200 ($25 discount for participants of Pilar Alessandra workshops) and aims to help participants learn more about the process of writing for television.

Two writing groups, both led by McKinney, will learn to develop a plot line for several characters using the premise of Less Than Kind. The exercise will simulate what it's like to write for a television series.

Applicants must submit a resume of previous writing experience along with payment. Resumes will be reviewed to determine eligibility for the course. Please submit your resume by email to rharder@filmtraining.mb.ca.

Mark McKinney was the series producer and executive story editor for Less Than Kind, developed through NSI's Totally Television training program.
