Eisha Marjara / Link to Whistler Film Festival

At Whistler Film Festival over the weekend, NSI Features First-developed film Venus won the Alliance of Women Film Journalists (AWFJ) EDA award for best female-directed narrative feature. The film was written and directed by Eisha Marjara and produced by Joe Balass.

Genders, generations and cultures collide in this comedy about the modern family unit, which follows a transitioning woman who discovers she’s the father of a 14-year-old boy.

Whistler was Venus‘s English-language festival premiere. Prior to this, the film premiered at the Festival du nouveau cinéma in Montreal in October.
