Big congrats to Ashley McKenzie and Nelson MacDonald (NSI Drama Prize) whose debut feature film Werewolf is one of three finalists chosen for the 2017 Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia Masterworks Arts Award.

As well as receiving a $3K prize for being shortlisted, the finalists are also in the running for the $22K grand prize announced in November at the Creative Nova Scotia Gala. The public is invited to celebrate the three finalists at a panel discussion at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic on September 18, 2017.

The award recognizes the excellence of a particular work of art or design from any media.

NSI nominated Werewolf for the Telefilm Canada Micro-Budget Production Program in 2015. The Globe and Mail recently called the film “one of the all-time-great Canadian first films.”
