Celebrate International Women’s Day with these award-winning female directed short films

Thanks to the generous support of Corus Entertainment, we present the Corus Fearless Female Director Award four times a year to the best female-directed films in the NSI Online Short Film Festival.

To mark International Women’s Day, we’re giving a shout out to these talented, award-winning directors who’ve received the Corus Fearless Female Director Award (along with a link to their winning film, if available to watch online).

Call for films / submit by March 24

Whether you’re a female director or not, we want your short films. We’re currently accepting film submissions for the NSI Online Short Film Festival through FilmFreeway until Friday, March 24, 2017.

Films that meet award criteria are eligible for the $1,250 A&E Short Filmmakers Award, the $1,000 Brian Linehan Actors Award and the $1,000 Corus Fearless Female Director Award. These awards are presented four times a year. The $1,500 Blue Ant Media Documentary Award is presented twice a year. Read more about the awards.

We accept films released after January 1, 2012.

Your film must be less than 30 mins long. Drama, comedy, animation, documentary, sci-fi, horror, music video and experimental are all eligible and must be made by a Canadian writer, director or producer.
