Leading up to their big bank robbery, four aspiring criminals discover that they have wildly conflicting, ludicrous opinions on how it should go down.
Writer/Director: Struan Sutherland
Producer: André Pettigrew
After making no-budget shorts and animations for years, The Hold Up was my first experience working with a professional crew and a real live cast of actual actors, rather than a bunch of friends who had to be bullied, bribed and blackmailed. And it was glorious.
Made through the Atlantic Filmmakers’ Cooperative FILM 5 program, with my teammate and producer André Pettigrew, this film was a pleasure from start to finish.
I think it’s a testament to the cast that everyone I know seems to disagree on which character is the funniest. To me their performances, and the expert cinematography of Jeff Wheaton, are the highlights of this film.
As luck would have it, they also happen to be a tremendous amount of fun to work with.
