About Ian Lagarde
Ian Lagarde grew up on movie sets as a young actor and went on to study film production at Concordia University.
After leaving school, he got funding for The American Savannah, a feature documentary about the disproportionate importance of the lawn in the American psyche. The film aired three times on Télé-Québec, opened the summer season of CBC’s The Nature of Things and received a special jury prize at RIDM – Montreal International Documentary Festival 2008.
Ian wrote and directed three short fiction films: Voeux Pieux, Planche à l’oeil and Vent solaire, which won the award for best director at the 2012 Saguenay International Short Film Festival.
Ian also worked as director of photography on several short films and music videos including Vic + Flo Saw a Bear (Denis Côté, 2013) which won the Alfred Bauer Prize at Berlin International Film Festival.
