Jessica Vander Kooij scores series producer gig on Property Brothers

Thanks to her talent and training in the NSI Lifestyle & Reality Series Producer course, Jessica Vander Kooij has been promoted to series producer on Property Brothers.

“Jessica is a fabulous addition to the Property Brothers management team,” said Gerard Barry, executive producer of Property Brothers. “She was able to use her time with NSI to focus her natural ability, enthusiasm and experience.”

Jessica, who was a student in the 2012-13 NSI Lifestyle & Reality Series Producer course, was an intern on Cineflix’s Property Brothers while she was taking the course.

She credits Christle Leonard, Property Brothers‘ previous series producer, with mentorship and for giving her the opportunity to grow and learn. Jessica also flourished under the guidance of then-program manager Brandice Vivier and then-program advisor Al Magee.

“I am very grateful Cineflix Productions gave me the opportunity to attend the NSI Lifestyle & Reality Series Producer course. The in-class training and eight-week internship was a valuable experience in my growth to becoming a well-rounded series producer. Having the chance to meet and work with industry experts ultimately gave me that final nudge into the career I’ve always wanted.”

“We’re proud of Jessica and excited for this next step in her career,” said John Gill, NSI CEO. “Her success shows exactly what the course is meant to do – give students the training and experience needed to be a producer in the lifestyle and reality genre.”
