On the morning Xavier prepares to leave for his mission in Afghanistan his partner Aaron desperately tries to live in the moment and struggles to ward off thoughts of the atrocities his partner will face.
Writer/director: Ron Kennell Producer: Bruce Godfree
“Reveille is a wake up call, a love story, a tribute to gay soldiers and their partners. It is also a meditation on how the public act of mourning can be subjugated by the very society for which the soldier is willing to die.
Weaving a mutable reality, Reveille explores the haunting beauty of a soldier and his partner sharing what may be their last morning together while touching on the isolation of a society that was never a part of their love. The simplest gesture, look, song or word can have an enormous impact on our memories.”
