Shelly and Oliver discover that a heart-to-heart conversation brings about more than either of them expected.
Writer: Dane Clark
Director: Simonee Chichester
Producers: Jordan Gross, Simonee Chichester
“My mission is to tell stories, mostly rooted in character pieces, in which insignificant voices and characters are represented.
The stories don’t need to be epic or political, just affecting, honest and human.
I first encountered My Guy while in the director’s lab at the Canadian Film Centre.
Dane Clark and I had formed a friendship and discovered our love for character pieces.
After reading My Guy, I experienced a warm and fuzzy feeling. It was that earnest, almost goofy, story which succeeded in the grand task of encapsulating important themes, such as identity and self worth, in a short film.
It is that short and sweet feeling I hope to share with audiences.”
