NSI announces new partnership with Entertainment One

The National Screen Institute – Canada (NSI) is proud to announce a new three-year partnership with Entertainment One (eOne).

Beginning in 2014, eOne will be a Corporate Strategic Sponsor, supporting NSI Drama Prize, NSI Features First, NSI Totally Television, NSI Online, the NSI Online Short Film Festival, NSI Aboriginal Documentary and NSI New Voices.

“Entertainment One has such a huge presence in the film and television industry,” said John Gill, NSI CEO. “They’re at the forefront of showcasing great talent to the world, and we’re very grateful for their interest and commitment to training the next generation of writers, directors and producers.”

Since its founding over 27 years ago, NSI has made a major impact in the Canadian film, television and digital media industries by training screen professionals for sustainable careers. According to its most recent alumni survey, 87% of respondents are working in the industry. Through its courses over the last five years, NSI has helped develop 15 short films, three features – plus two more upcoming in 2014 – and four TV series.

“We are delighted to be on board as sponsors and supporters. NSI has a strong track record of success for developing curriculums that nurture Canadian screen talent and develop their skills and network,” said Darren Throop, president & CEO, Entertainment One. “The quality of Canadian film and television has never been higher and, as a Canadian company with offices around the world, we’re proud to see more and more homegrown talent emerge and shine at home and around the globe.”

  1. Trying to keep up with all that is happening is mind boggling. Even more so since I started the serious and exciting exploration of what we have available in our awesome Canadian entertainment world.

Now having completed two sit-coms, one feature film and three novellas, I don’t know if there is any more space in my head for yet more – but I will make room for ENTERTAINMENT ONE. THAT’S A GIVEN.
