Dancing in the Club is a short musical love story set in the bowels of a fictitious Berlin discotheque.
Hans Hoch, dance enthusiast, awaits the arrival of his best friend Richter as he clubs his way through 1990s American movie-themed rooms and ridiculous throwback German hipsters searching for the one girl who has what it takes to become his partner.
Produced with a grant awarded by bravoFACT (Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent), a division of Bell Media Inc.
Writer/director: Alek Rzeszowski
Producer: Matthew Rankin
Alek Rzeszowski says:
“Dancing in the Club explores the mysterious world of German nightclub culture. At its core it is a man’s journey of obsession with finding love on the only terms he understands – through dance – a language in which he is a fluent and discriminating elitist. Hans knows just how to dance.”
