Stranded in Calgary: report from the Banff World Media Festival 2012

From-Calgary-airport

The NSI gang left Banff this morning and drove the hour and a half to Calgary airport where we are now currently stranded after a lightning storm halted all flights.

The good news is that we appear to be leaving Calgary later tonight. Only seven hours after our original flight.

Yesterday at the Banff World Media Festival we met with the lovely Jill Golick to discuss a web series training course that we’re developing. Jill has agreed to come on as the course advisor and we’re thrilled to have her. If you haven’t checked out her web series Ruby Skye P.I., you can find out more on the Ruby Skye P.I. website.

Here’s Jill (pictured above, far left) with me and NSI director of programming Melissa Kajpust in the Rundle Lounge at the beautiful Banff Springs Hotel.

We’re still ironing out the details of the web series training course so there’s still a way to go, specifically curriculum and sponsorship. We’ll keep you updated as we know more.

We just got news our flight is delayed again. Hopefully we’ll be back in Winnipeg sometime this week.

We finally arrived in Winnipeg, sans luggage, around  2 a.m. Horrah!
