This morning NSI’s power duo Melissa Kajpust and Brandice Vivier hosted the NSI Power Hour in the Crump Room (the room name got guffaws around the festival).
They gave an overview of our training courses including the newly launched Script to Screen - a program partnership with Corus’ western-Canada pay TV service Movie Central and NSI. You can download a copy of the presentation below.
Among the guests were Garfield Miller (NSI Features First) and Zia Marashi, a Vancouver filmmaker whose work has been programmed in the NSI Online Short Film Festival.
After the presentation, I joined Chris Vajcner for a meeting with Jim Babchak from A&E Television Networks - sponsors of the A&E Short Filmmakers Award in the NSI Online Short Film Festival.
After the meeting, our conversation turned to the crazy weather in Banff when we arrived. Jim kindly shared with us his snowman photo from the weekend. The snowman was greeting visitors at the entrance to Banff Provincial Park.
Last night, I joined Chris Vajcner at the Netflix party where we bumped into lots of NSI grads including Greg Hemmings (NSI Global Marketing). I may have had a glass of wine by this point :)
Shortly we’ll be meeting with the fabulous Jill Golick, attending the Western Canada reception and the A&E Rockie Awards Champagne Toast.
