This is Jordan Canning again – filmmaker from St. John’s, Newfoundland and NSI Drama Prize grad.
This seems to be the month of online short film competitions and I have one final plea.
Our Bravo!FACT animation, Not Over Easy is a finalist in CBC’s Short Film Faceoff. It’s one of only three films competing for the incredible, amazing, life-changing prize of $40,000 for a new project.
If we win, I’d use the prize money for my first feature and it would be a HUGE step towards getting it made.
Short Film Faceoff airs on CBC on Saturday evenings, and after the final episode on Saturday, June 30 online voting opens for 24 hours only.
With such a small voting window, it’s really going to come down to a mad internet blitz through Facebook, Twitter and email (not to mention smoke signals and homing pigeons).
I’ve also created a Facebook event that you can join so when voting begins I can message the whole group and get the ball rolling. If you’re on Facebook, it would be awesome if you joined the event.
Voting opens on June 30 at 9:30 p.m. in NL, 9 p.m. in the Maritimes and 8 p.m. in the rest of Canada. We would really appreciate your vote (and maybe post and tweet about it on voting day).
